"Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus"

So as of late life has been a little crazy. There has been stress over finding “the right home” for our family. Although it has been so nice to be able to stay with my parents during this time I still have a feeling of rushing to find something and get us into a home so we can kind of get back on our family schedule and routine. When I really sit down and ponder about this time in our lives I hear the Lord relay several scriptures in my mind. It’s quite funny because I don’t even know the exact scripture word for word but the certain and same part keeps popping into my head “by prayer and supplication” That certain part will keep coming to mind and I have it on repeat in my head.  The entire scripture actually reads:
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
Phillipians 4:6
Not really knowing what supplication means the dictionary defines it as “the action of asking or begging for something earnestly or humbly.” After reading that I am hearing and feeling something being spoken to me. Put the pride aside, do not have a sense of entitlement, make your requests known to God and he will deliver. I fully believe this is a season in our lives where God is really working on us and bringing us out of our comfort zones, calling us to be a light and teaching us patience and growing our faith to trust in him.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;”
Proverbs 3:5
I wanted to share a little tidbit of something I found and absolutely adore. Brandon and I are HUGE fans of the show Fixer Upper. We love the show, their clearly evident faith, adorable family, sweet little farmhouse, their stylish Magnolia shop and the way Chip and Joanna are so fearless with their goals and chase after their dreams wholeheartedly. I stumbled across this video on Youtube and also shared it on Facebook.

I feel if this video helps me it might help someone else to really trust God with your dreams. My dream of owning a home is on the horizon. I feel it, I know it. So in the meantime I put my full Faith in him and want to really “Fix my eyes on Jesus” (as Joanna would say) knowing he knows what lies ahead and has our plan all mapped out.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
